Built for the families who travel.

Independent travel guides for youth-sports tournament weekends. Written by parents who pack the cooler, drive the van, and have spent enough Saturdays on a sideline to know what works.

Who writes this

My Travel Tournament is run by a soccer parent who got tired of piecing together hotel reviews, restaurant lists, and "what is there to do near this complex" Facebook threads every tournament weekend.

The site is editorially independent. It is not affiliated with USYS, ECNL, MLS Next, GotSport, USSSA, Perfect Game, or any tournament host or club. Every venue and tournament page is written or reviewed by a parent who has been to that event, or by someone who has researched it carefully against multiple sources.

If you have been to a tournament we cover and the page gets something wrong, the contact section below has the email. We update fast when we hear about it.

Editorial policy

We write three kinds of content: venue guides, tournament guides, and topic guides like packing lists or weather notes. Each follows the same rules.

  • No pay-to-play. A tournament cannot pay to be listed, ranked higher, or written about more favorably. We choose what to cover based on parent demand and the data behind the event, including official sanctioning bodies and historical patterns.
  • Affiliate links never change the recommendation. Hotels we point you to are the ones we would book ourselves. The commercial relationship is disclosed in the next section.
  • Corrections are public. When a page is meaningfully wrong and we fix it, the page gets a small note at the bottom.
  • AI assistance is real. We use AI tools to help organize data and draft early text. Every page that goes live has a parent's eyes on it. Pages that have not yet been parent-reviewed are marked.

Affiliate disclosure

My Travel Tournament earns commission when you book hotels and activities through some of the links on this site. We currently use Booking.com for hotel bookings and GetYourGuide for activities. We are in the application process with HotelPlanner Sports, which handles team-block bookings for many of the venues we cover.

A commission costs you nothing extra. The hotel rate you see on Booking.com is the same rate you would see going directly. Booking through our links is what keeps the guides free and independent. We do not accept paid placements, paid reviews, or sponsored venue listings. If that ever changes, this page will say so.

We do not earn commission on every link. Some links go directly to tournament hosts, venue websites, or third-party tools we like. Those are not affiliate links and we do not get paid when you click them.

Contact

For corrections, tips on tournaments or venues we should cover, or just a parent-to-parent note: hello@mytraveltournament.com.

We read every message. We do not always respond fast (tournament weekends are real for us too), but we respond.

For business inquiries (affiliate partnerships, tournament hosts, club sponsorships), use the same email with "partnership" in the subject line.

Privacy

What we collect. Page-view analytics through privacy-respecting tools that do not require cookies or personally identifying data. Newsletter signups (email address only) when you subscribe. Nothing more.

What we do not collect. Names, ages, your kid's team, location data, or anything that could identify a child. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Affiliate cookies. When you click a hotel or activity affiliate link, the partner site (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, HotelPlanner) sets its own cookies on their domain to attribute the booking. That cookie is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email is stored with our email provider for the purpose of sending you tournament-travel emails. You can unsubscribe with a single click from any email.

Data requests. If you want a copy of any data we hold about you, or want us to delete it, send a request to the contact email above. We respond within seven days.
